On Friday 26 August 2016, QPO Restaurant, Bar & Events and Love Those Lashes will be holding a morning tea to raise funds for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. This is the fourth year they have helped support the CBC Foundation. Established in 2001 by world renowned brain surgeon Dr Charlie Teo, the CBC Foundation is involved in raising funds for brain cancer research which, despite its enormous significance, receives almost no government funding. The foundation’s goal is to raise funds to support the creation of an international collaborative brain research community and to help study the epidemiology of brain tumours to better understand the reason why these tumours occur.
What we do know is that:
- Brain cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children
- Brain cancer is the deadliest cancer - it grows veryrapidly and is ultimately fatal in almost all those affected
- Brain cancer strikes adults and children alike, with the incidence highest in adults in the prime of life
- Brain cancer receives less than 5% of all government funding toward cancer
Come and join us for a day of delicious morning tea, champagne, wine, coffee, tea by Madame Flavour, door prizes, raffles and auctions!
