Kew Court House welcomes Tulalah to bring you on a trip through an ethereal yet energetic sonic wonderland for a very special, intimate performance with accompanying string section.
Tulalah are a nine-piece orchestral folk outfit hailing from Melbourne. Incorporating elements of jazz, folk, rock and cinematic influence, they strive to create a sound that is far beyond the expanse of their instrumentation.
In October 2015, the ensemble released their debut album The Flood to wide critical acclaim. The complex and sensitive collection of works that was the result of two weeks spent in a beach house on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula recording the bones of the album. From there, several churches and halls in Melbourne’s inner north were used to track vocal, string and horn sections. It will be something rather extraordinary to witness this work in the intimacy of our little theatre.
