A tradition dating back to the 1940s is on again this Thursday when the Kew East Primary School Community and Concert Band play a free lunchtime concert.
The band, established in 1930, has been playing for the community since the 1940s.
The concert is designed to build bridges within the community and will see people living in assisted living homes bussed in to enjoy the music.
Assistant principal Donna Heffernan said former band members who took part throughout the decades would also attend the day.
She said the community was welcome to attend the event.
The concert is on Thursday, from 1:00pm to 2:15pm, at Kew East Primary School's multipurpose gym, Beredford Street, Kew East.
